The Holland varsity softball team opened conference play losing both games to Zeeland East Tuesday afternoon. Holland was plagued with some costly errors which caused both games to get out of hand early. Addyson Hill took the loss in both games. Maggie Telgenhof found her swing adding 2 hits and a stolen base. Delaney Wilson also added a hit and a stolen base. The Dutch were held hitless in a shortened second game, only sending six girls to the plate. "We need to be able to make the simple plays to keep us in games. We are young and depth at pitching is thin. We are asking a lot from our pitching staff, but we are improving every day. We are in the right positions to make plays, but we need to find ways to get the job done", said coach Hill. The Dutch fall to 0-5 on the season, 0-2 in the conference. The Dutch will play Holland Christian next week Tuesday to continue conference play.
