The Holland High Varsity Tennis team traveled to Jenison for an Invitational on Saturday. The Dutch finished in 2nd with 17 points. Leading the way for Holland was Kiernan Grigg and Ally Valentine (#3 doubles) and the #4 doubles team of Lucy Green and Remi VanFarowe. Both flights went 3-0 at their respective flights. The Dutch also had five flights go 2-1 on the day to earn runner-up status. "I challenged the team to play with more energy and ultimately enjoy the moment and they responded well," said Holland coach Kyle Kreps. "We had multiple players partnering up for the first time and others playing in different spots and the players looked unfazed. It says a lot about their commitment to each other and ultimately the team." The Dutch defeated Fruitport 6-2, Loy Norrix 6-2, and lost a tight match to Jenison 5-3. Holland will host Unity Christian on Monday in another conference matchup.
